With the theme “Bright Minds for Better Future”, Southville International School Affiliated with Foreign Universities (SISFU) launches its search for the 1st SISFU STUDENT, ENTREPRENEURSHIP INNOVATION AND START-UP CHALLENGE to promote innovation and creative capacity among college students and to generate entrepreneurial competencies in the field of technology and services.
The competition is open to college/university students (maximum of 5 members) who are currently enrolled in a degree program (business education, science and technology, and other related programs). There are two (2) award categories, namely: (a) Technology Category – Businesses that produce new products based on breakthroughs in research, science-based advances through specific knowledge in an academic field, (smart devices, applications, new products and services based on the Internet, cloud usage, artificial intelligence etc.) and (b) Services Category – Businesses that are classified as service providers which includes financial and banking services, professional services, transportation, medical and health services, accommodation etc.
Entries are limited to one (1) category per school. All applications must be submitted in English. The entries prepared by the students should be original ideas and concepts and must be endorsed by the college/university dean. All participating schools should accomplish and email the official entry form and the Executive Summary of the business plans at sisfucompetition@southville.edu.ph. Deadline of submission of entries is on October 19, 2018.
The panel of judges is composed of renowned entrepreneurs, business professionals, college deans, professors and venture capitalists. All entries of participating schools will be assessed on the basis of their submission of the Executive Summary. The concept or idea of the submitted business plan should not have been previously entered in a national competition. SISFU will give up to Php 70,000 cash prize for the winners.
