Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) received its International Organization for Standardization (ISO 9001:2015) recertification from global standards inspection leader TÜV Rheinland recently with zero non-conformities. The audit was a combination of a remote audit and an on-site inspection to assure SISC’s quality management systems are efficient, productive, and globally competitive.

The recertification covers all relevant areas of school quality including school management, curriculum, teaching processes, safety, and security, among others, to ensure that SISC delivers value to its students and other stakeholders. The successful recertification attests to the school’s ability to adapt to challenges and the demands for innovation as all its operations and processes continue to run smoothly even with the disruptions brought by the pandemic.

“Southville has a long association with the ISO and we are strong supporters of the work of the world’s leading developer of international standards. Our ISO Quality Management System entails all the attributes of a management system dedicated to enabling our school to attain its set objectives. ISO 9001:2015 recertification is a “stamp of approval” that Southville offers quality education programs, teaching excellence, and documented program/learning outcomes,” said Dr. Jocelyn Tizon, SISC President. 

She added, “The independent and impartial audit information and feedback we received help us maintain our academic integrity, financial credibility, and long-term viability. Over the years, we have developed a detailed risk management framework to identify where the key risks lie, and how they can be managed.”

Southville’s recertification is yet another milestone for the institution during the first quarter of 2022 with no non-conformity findings for the last eight years. It seals the school’s testament to delivering quality despite the challenging times.
