Fifth grader Gabriel Aguilar, of Southville International School and Colleges found in his heart to help the kids in Tacloban who, despite the recent calamity, continue to pursue their passion in soccer.
The generous Gabriel wholeheartedly collected his old football shoes, as well as of those of his friends, and came up with over a dozen pairs that eventually found their way to their new owners in Tacloban and its neighbouring towns.
Through this initiative, Gabriel wishes that these young players will eventually forget the dreadful experience they had and put smiles back on their faces.
“It is overwhelming to know that there are people who supported me with in advocacy just like my Gothia Cup Team, Ms. Ginggay Hontiveros, and my Southville family. Bringing joy to these kids is just amazing,” shares Gabriel.
The young football players of Tacloban are still in need of ankle guard socks, spikes, and other necessary sports equipment. Those who are interested to help can send donations to the RTR Foundation / Mission Tacloban, 6th floor Universal Bldg., 106 Paseo de Roxas Ave. corner Perea St., Makati City or through Gabriel.
“I am happy to know that Gabriel has embodied the 5Cs in him— he was able to reach out to people in a very creative way, collaborating with them and being committed to rally for a good cause,’ said Ms. Avic Suarez, Principal.
