Adrian Mendoza and Romeo Say, Grade 6 students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), were named recipients of the Certificate of Distinction Award in the Upper Primary Division of the 2011 Australian Mathematics Competition. The award is given to students in the top 15% of each level and region.
Mendoza and Say successfully hurdled against other young mathematicians all over the world who took the competitive exam featuring thirty questions in arithmetic, algebra, geometry and problem solving.
More than 40 countries and around 600,000 participants made the Australian Mathematics Competition conducted by the Australian Mathematics Trust as the world’s largest mathematics competition.
