With the theme “Excellence in Nursing through Competence and Integrity”, BS Nursing students who had completed their Associate in Health Science Education were honored in the traditional Capping and Candle Lighting Ceremony held last December 11, 2010 in Luxembourg Gym. The special event, witnessed by parents, faculty members, and staff featured time-honored traditions like the pinning ceremony, candle lighting and the recitation of the Nightingale pledge.

A total of 61 students received their nursing caps and pins which they can now wear as part of the nursing uniform. The event also served as a reminder that more than “being in white”, nurses have a huge responsibility to devote themselves to the people under their care.
