The High School Division and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) held the annual Christmas Bazaar open to the general public last December 2, 2011. The said activity was a major requirement of the SISC business curriculum which provides students with the opportunity to get a firsthand business experience outside the classroom setting.
Prior to the event, the students created an original business concept and developed a detailed business plan of tasks. The students took responsibility of all aspects of their business including purchasing, production, setup, pricing, and promotion.
The said project which began in 2007 is an initiative of the Business and Social Living and Global Education Departments (SLGE) of SISC. The goal is for students to have a feel of becoming “their own boss”, thus developing employer mindset and entrepreneurship skills.
