The BS Nursing, BS Psychology, BS Information Technology, Bachelor of Elementary Education with specialization in Special Education, and BS in Business Administration programs of Southville International School and Colleges have recently been granted Level II Accredited Status by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). The programs were visited by the PACUCOA Accrediting Team last March 13 – 14, 2014 and were evaluated using the ten outcomes-based areas of Level II accreditation. The ten areas focused on Philosophy and Objectives, Faculty, Instruction and Learning, Laboratories, Research, Library, Student Services, Social Orientation and Community Involvement, Physical Plant and Facilities, and Organization and Administration.
The College Deans, Chairpersons, faculty members and non-teaching staff prepared and compiled documents and records that exhibited the application of continuous quality improvement on the processes adopted by the College. Exhibits were also presented to the PACUCOA accreditors showing the various outputs per areas vis-à-vis the desired outcomes. Moreover, tarpaulins showing process maps and the outputs and outcomes of each process were displayed in the Accreditation Room during the PACUCOA campus visit. This has made possible the full appreciation by the PACUCOA team of the outcomes-based education in SISC as practiced by the accredited programs.
The AB Communication Program also received Level I accreditation from PACUCOA in January 2014. Accreditation status indicates that the program meets the standards of quality set by the accreditation organization in terms of faculty, curriculum, administration, facilities, and student services. It is reserved only for truly deserving higher education institutions that have proven their excellence in the areas of instruction, research, and outreach.
