Advanced Level members of the Southville Karate Club attended the 2013 Meibukan Gojyu Ryu Karate Seminar held recently.

Master Meitatsu Yagi, 10th Dan Blackbelt, Cchairman of the International Meibukan Gojyu Ryu Karatedo Association (IMGKA) shared his expertise to the members of the Karate Club. Students were taught Sanchin Kata, Kakie Te, Kote Kitae, Kihon Ido, Geki Sai Ichi, Geki Sai Ni, Saifa, and Shisochin. Further,  Master Yagi led the Meibukan Kata series, Advanced Goju Ryu Kata, and Meibuko Kobudo techniques.

For the Meibukan Kata series, the Tenchi, the Seiryu, Byakko, Shujaku and Genbu were taught. For the Advanced Gojyu Ryu Kata, the following skills and knowledge were passed on to the attendees: Sanseru, Seisan, Seienchin, and Seipai. Lastly, for the Meibukan Kobudo, the Geki Sai Ichi BO and Sai plus the Geki Sai Ni BO and Sai methods were demonstrated and instilled to the students.
