Southville International School and Colleges, one of the premiere international schools in Asia, recently welcomed parents and students during the launching of the SGEN Learning Village, held at the Southville Star Campus in Parañaque. The SGEN Learning Village is made for children, ages 1 – 7 to learn in an environment where they can explore, discover and play.
The SGEN Learning Village was founded on the concept that our brains can grow, intelligence is greatly influenced by the environment and much of the brain growth happens during the ages of zero to three based on the latest research from the Center of the Developing Child at Harvard University.
Intelligence is influenced by both genetics and environment, research studies show that in some cases genetically identical twins have IQ point differences as large as twenty points. Intelligence is greatly increased by other factors such as culture, parental care and environment.
Early education and programs focused on cognitive stimulation in children can have dramatic effects on later academic success. Intelligence can be both heritable and malleable which means it is influenced by both genetic and environmental factors.
At SGEN Learning Village, we help children grow their brain by providing important skill-building practice and get kids learning in their natural environment through real-life play rather than digital screens. The Village also provides both free play, guided play and is open to birthday functions.
