On March 17, 2015, the AB Communication 1 students launched their very first exhibit PARA in the college lobby. From the street food to the fiesta banners to the Chinese lanterns to “Manila” by The Hotdogs playing in the background, one can definitely feel the Manila vibe.

The exhibit lunched kicked off around 10:00 AM, an hour later than expected, due to last minute finishing touches. It started with a short skit about a group of people riding a jeep going to four destinations in Manila: Roxas Boulevard, Intramuros, Ongpin, and España. After that, the guests were given their snacks which consist of fishballs, squidballs, and kikiam. Then, Princess Adriano and Julienne Aguinaldo, the hosts for the event, led the guests around the exhibit donning their Chinese customes. The launch ended with a picture taking at the exhibit’s photo booth. The exhibit, however, lasted for three days, starting on March 17 and ending on March 19, 2015.

Just like any other exhibit, PARA was time-consuming, challenging and energy-draining. With only one week to prepare, the Basic Photography students faced struggles here and there. They planned and made props whenever they had the chance. The whole batch felt relieved when the launched was finally over, because all of their hard work and sleepless nights have finally paid off. PARA served as an experience which taught the batch many important lessons such as time-management and teamwork. They will surely do even much better in the future.

The exhibit would not have been successful if not for Sir John Michael G. Manansala, the Basic Photography professor of the batch, and Kayla Loberiza, the leader of the batch’s exhibit.
