The 1st SISC Stock Challenge is an online stock trading competition open to all students of Southville International School and Colleges. It aims to educate and help first-time investors in understanding how the stock market works.
The contest is accessible through the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) website (www.pse.com.ph) which provides players with real-world trading experience while using virtual money. The facility, which is patterned after existing Internet trading facilities of brokers, runs using real-time prices of the PSE.
Once a team registers, it will be allocated an initial virtual sum of money. Team members can then build a portfolio of stocks by way of buying and selling shares with valued companies on a real market data feed.
The team with the highest portfolio value at the end of the tournament period will be declared as Champion.
