Juniors Undergo Career Exploration



The High School III class of Southville International School and Colleges had a Career Exploration Symposium last January 27. The event featured successful people in the fields of information technology, health services, hotel and restaurant management, legal services, engineering, and psychology who expounded on the practices, challenges, and rewards of each discipline. The activity was done to help the students identify their strengths and interests before applying for a college course.

Southville Boosts Students’ Love for Science



Southville International School and Colleges, in partnership with the Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology, will hold an interactive Science Week Celebration on March 1-4, 2011. The event aims to increase students’ interest in Science and turn its abstract concepts to the tangible.

SISC Ranks in StockXChallenge



Out of 115 teams from various colleges and universities, Southville International School and Colleges ranked 17th in the StockXChallenge as of Week 5 of the competition. Dubbed as “The Ultimate Game of Online Stock Trading and Investment”, the tournament started on December 1, 2010 and will end at the close of trading hours on February 28, 2011. Each registered team is given an initial virtual capital of Php 10 million as their online play money.

Tourism Student Wins Pageant



Third year BS Tourism student Alyssa Du bagged the title “Ms. Zuri International” in the First Young Filipino Tourism Advocates’ Power Conference held last February 26, 2011 at the PICC Forum 2 in Pasay City.

With the theme “Unleash the Next Big Thing in Philippine Industry”, the conference was opened to all students in tourism, travel management, hospitality management, aviation, and other tourism-related programs. A panel of distinguished speakers discussed new perspectives in the tourism industry.

Math Whiz Hones Up for Int’l Tourn



Today starts yet another challenging day for Gen Mark Tanno, an incoming grade six Southville student as he prepares for the upcoming mid-year international math competitions to be held in either Korea, Singapore or China.

Gen Mark aced intellectually challenging math problems during the 2010 Young Mathematicians’ In-house Intensive Training Program (YMIITP) sponsored by the Mathematics Trainers Guild of the Philippines (MTG). He ousted more than 700 other aspirants, giving him the Top Scorer Award and crowning him the privilege of representing the country in international competitions. Southville Nabs Twin Wins



Straight from acing consecutive wins in the International Schools Activities Conference (ISAC) Boys and Girls Volleyball Division, Southville International School and Colleges’ athletes once more bring home the bacon upon outplaying British School-Manila in the Girls Basketball finals held in Brent International School-Baguio last January 21-23, 2010. Meanwhile, the Boys Football team, placed third in the same tournament.

Making it to the meet’s all-star teams were Alyanna Ong and Miko Oyama in girls basketball, and John Taylor and Ricky Rens in boys football.

Southville students become Microsoft Certified Professionals



Current students and recent graduates of the Information Technology course at Southville have recently gained the prestigious Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist certification on the implementation and maintenance of Microsoft Databases (SQL Server 2005). The exam takers recorded a 100% passing rate for all the non-graduated students of Southville and also a 100% passing rate for all the Southville scholars. This particular certification is valued worldwide due to the degree of difficulty with Training kits and preparation guides typically being over 1000 pages in length.

The musical performance of Flutist Ray O. Sison and Pianist Ingrid Sala Santamaria, as well as the crowning of 2009 Mr. and Ms. SISC, highlighted the 19th founding anniversary celebration of Southville International School and Colleges.

The week-long festivity held from Sept. 14-19, 2009 featured activities such as Are you Smarter than a Southville Student?; Seminars on Parenting, Art Appreciation, Journalism and Editorial Cartooning; Science Fair; Literary Works Display; Storytelling and a lot more. Living Up to the International Name, SISC IT Dept, KIV Share Expertise



Armed with the passion to extend expertise on Information Communications Technologies (ICT), members of the Korean Internet Volunteers (KIV) headed by Ilryoung Lee, a graduate school student of Ewha Womans University, spent a month of volunteer work in the Information Technology Department of Southville International School and Colleges.
