Southville Delegates Win Major Awards in International Model United Nations in Beijing



The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) Model United Nations (MUN) delegation returned from the 9th International Model United Nations Conference in Beijing, China with the top awards as the only Philippine representative. Hyun Kim of the Grade 11 General Academic track was chosen Best Delegate of the Economic and Finance Committee while Dainyl Rouche Tolentino of Gr. 8 – Joy was also named Best Delegate of the General Assembly – Special Session Committee.

Seniors Dominate Southville Intramurals



Realizing the important role that recreation and fitness play in one’s personal development, the Basic Education Department held its intramurals recently providing an athletic outlet for Grades 3 – High School IV students. They competed in both competitive and recreational games including basketball, volleyball, soccer, dodge ball, badminton, and obstacle relay.

High School IV emerged as the Intramurals Overall Champion and won the coveted Cheerleading Cup. Declared Mr. and Ms. Intramurals of Grade School were Eli Rae Yan and Princess Mae Aguilar in Level 1 and Justine Cuevas and Hyo Sang Kwak in Level 2.

South SEED-LPDH Offers Allied Medical Courses



With its excellent track record in the College of Nursing manifested by a consistent high passing rate in the Philippine Nursing Licensure Exam, Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) opens a new school with Las Piñas Doctors Hospital (LPDH) named South SEED-LPDH College (SSLC) in academic year 2011-2012.

JS Prom Takes Place on February 18



February is a month SISC High School III & IV students look forward to with the holding of the traditional Junior-Senior Promenade. This year, the JS prom will be held at the Mandarin Oriental in Makati City on February 18, 2011 from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Besides the fun and camaraderie, the event signals the “coming of age” of the participants as they step into “young adulthood” with its responsibilities. It is also an occasion for the juniors to salute the achievements of the seniors, while the senior students bequeath the mantle of leadership to the juniors.

Southville-IB Student’s Research Sparks Media Interest All over Asia



Christopher Mills, an International Baccalaureate student of Southville International School and Colleges, recently wrote a research on the Philippine economy that sparked media interest and discussion all over Asia.

Chris’ research was for a Math Internal Assessment for his year 2 in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. He believes that his objective research on Philippine economy growth patterns will help him be accepted in Trent University, the second best school in Canada, where he plans to take up Finance.

A New Breed of MDs

Southville International School and Colleges – INNOVE Education Solution alumna Abegail Arevalo is the rising superstar of the San Jose State University Golf Team. In her school’s latest foray, Abby finished 6th out of 45 contenders, and 1st in her school’s golf roster, in the Mountain West Conference Championship last April 18-20, 2016.

An Easy Fix



The clamor of students on an early Saturday morning is pretty hard to miss. I walked into the Lux Hall on that very Saturday, still pretty hung up on the last few minutes (or hours) of sleep I could have gotten if I didn’t have to attend CAS.
