Preschool Division Runs for the Environment



Southville International School and Colleges’ Early Childhood Education Division invites its students, their parents and other interested parties to join a Fun Run on February 12, 2011 with the theme “Clean and Green 2011”.

Registration starts at 6:00 AM. Special tokens for the oldest and youngest runners, the earliest registrant, and family of runners will be given away.

After the run, Preschool to Grade 2 students will showcase their dancing skills through field demo presentations in Gym 2 of Luxembourg Campus. Other exciting activities such as the Sportsfest and Family Day are in store for the participants.

Enciso Skates Her Way to Victory Again



Skating sensation Verniece Enciso emerged as the Highest Female Pointer in the High Level Division of Skate Manila 2010 held last October 28-30 at the SM Mall of Asia. Besting the other 150 participants in front of almost a thousand spectators, she reaped 12 gold medals and 1 silver. This recent feat adds up to her long list of awards and recognition in ice skating.

Verniece had been a student of SISC’s I.N.N.O.V.E. Education Solution which integrates a home study and one-on-one consultations with teachers. Now she is a regular senior high school student excitedly awaiting her graduation next year. … [Read more]

SISC dance crew wins



Four very talented students from the College Division namely Christian E. Sekhanan (BS Psychology), Nicole Marie A. Santos (BS Psychology), John Joseph D.C. Quiachon (BS Nursing) and Ryuji Z. Tachiba (BSBA Marketing) composing the dance crew “eCSentric” prevailed in the “Dance Battle Showdown 2010” held last October 1, 2010 at The Fort, Taguig City. They garnered a score of 93.2% in the finals to place 1st among 8 other dance groups from different schools in Metro Manila. [Read more]

SISC Becomes Part of the Historical 10.10.10 Run for Pasig Event



Fully clad in sports outfits and armed with passion to protect the environment, the 214-strong Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) contingent led by its president Dr. Marl Ferenal joined more than 100,000 runners in the Run for Pasig Event last October 10, 2010.

The said event was part of the ABS-CBN Foundation’s initiatives to raise funds for the Pasig River and mobilize the Filipino people into real and prompt action. Calling all SISC alumni!

PeaceTech Founder to Talk on International Week



Canadian Journalist and PeaceTech Founder Robin Pettyfer will talk about internationalism and the role of the youth in addressing issues concerning peace and other challenges and solutions during Southville International School and Colleges’ (SISC) International Week Celebration on October 18-23, 2010.
With the theme “Unity in Cultural Diversity,” the International Week Celebration is a school’s tradition aimed at making the students realize their indispensable part in nation building and cultural understanding.

Li’l Princess now a CCP Ballerina



Ms. Earth Angel 2008 and Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) student Joanna Marcelo is one of the privileged few chosen to receive a full scholarship in ballet from the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

“It is very seldom that someone new in this field would be given a full scholarship. Most of the time, scholarships are given to intermediate dancers that’s why I am very honored to receive it,” Joanna humbly exclaimed.

Joanna initially got a half scholarship last summer and eventually qualified for the full scholarship.  She is now busy rehearsing for the CCP’s Peter Pan production.

SISC Joins the Int’l Bamboo Organ Festival



SISC Tourism students were invited by the Las Piñas Bamboo Organ Foundation Committee to be ushers and usherettes in the 36th International Bamboo Organ Festival held last February 17-23, 2011. They were Diandra Bonus, Justin Formentera, Bea Tantiongco, Cylene Apao, Brian Dela Peña, Alissa Jean Du, Emily Gaiser, Ira Nicdao, Roi Pomar, Marc Oñate, MJ Palado, and Kian Tirados.

The festival featured cultural and musical presentations to promote tourism development through the historic Bamboo Organ in St. Joseph Parish, Las Piñas City. SISC students were elated to be exposed to events that are vital to the country’s tourism industry. [Read more]

Social Responsibility Highlighted in Int’l Friendship Day



More than meeting new friends from other schools, SISC Girl Scouts from preschool to grade six exercised leadership skills and practiced social responsibility, during the International Friendship Day of the USA Girl Scouts Overseas-Manila Chapter held at International School Manila last November 21, 2009. Each Girl Scout was asked to bring a bucket of toiletries containing towel, body powder, toothbrush, comb, soap, shampoo and the likes, to be given to Girl Scout of the Philippines (GSP) troops in Pangasinan.

Intellectual Tournament Set



November 26 marks the largest scholarly competition among the Grades Six to High School IV students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) as they compete in the upcoming 2nd Academic Olympiad.
Celebrating the theme “The catalyst of a socially responsible future,” students will get to participate in activities all aimed at showcasing their wits and talents and building up camaraderie and collaboration among them.
