PTC set on January 30, 2015



The Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) regarding your child’s school performance during the Second Term will be on January 30, 2015. This is also an opportune time for you to meet with your child’s sponsor who acts as his / her guardian in school. The PTC schedule will be 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (following pre-arranged schedule for parents) in Munich, STAR & Luxembourg Campuses.

SISC Psychology Students Held Psychology Day



Last November 27, 2014, the College of Psychology celebrated Psychology Day with the theme “Psychology in the Midst of the 21st Century: Strengthening the Body and the Human Mind.” It is held to let BS Psychology majors demonstrate their creativity, character, collaboration, commitment to achieve, and competence.

The day was truly fun-filled with activities such as parlor games, ice breakers, and basketball among many others.  Through the games, the students exemplified the 5Cs of SISC.  Their participation and eagerness to win every game showed that aside from being academically competent, they are versatile.

Southville plays Santa to PoUCh



More than a hundred PoUCh (Poor Urban Children) beneficiaries received holiday cheers during the Save A PoUCh Christmas Party held recently. The party is Southville International School and Colleges’ (SISC) yearly commitment to the beneficiaries so they will have a feel of the season of love and sharing. In this simple but meaningful activity, the poor urban children can continue to hope no matter how dire circumstances can be. Southville stamps class in Acad Olympiad



SISC delegates made a strong showing at this year’s Southville Global Education Network’s (SGEN) Academic Olympiad held last November 21, 2014 at Stonyhurst Southville International School – Batangas. The event featured the best and the brightest Basic Education students from the SGEN member schools namely South Mansfield College, Stonyhurst Southville International School – Batangas, Stonyhurst Southville International School – Malarayat, and SISC.

International forum sets youth on leadership path



SISC’s Asian Federation of Student Leaders (AFSL) will bring together young student leaders from the Philippines and other Asian countries for a three-day workshop designed to help them become more engaged citizens and effective social innovators.

The AFSL International Youth Leadership Workshop will take place January 22 – 24, 2015 in Guam. The workshop aims to improve participants’ understanding of civic participation and activism, build their social awareness and project management skills, and develop a network of young leaders throughout the region.

Southville Innove Student Wins International Golf Tourn



Southville Innove Student Abegail Arevalo won the SCPGA Junior Tour 15-18 Division, USA to bring pride to the Filipino People.

Math whiz makes it to select summer camp



Gen Mark Tanno of Gr. 10 – Commitment has been accepted to the 47th Ateneo Junior Summer Seminar reserved for the ‘best minds’ of selected high schools nationwide.  Tanno passed a battery of tests similar to the Ateneo College Entrance Test (assuring him of a slot at Ateneo de Manila University after graduating from high school), and will attend classes offered to regular undergraduates, sports fests, field trips, camps, and presentations.

Southville’s Tanno succeeds the qualifying stage for the 16th Philippine Mathematical Olympiad



A Basic Education student of Southville International School and Colleges, Gen Mark Tanno aced the National Capital Region qualifiers for the upcoming 16th Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO).
Now on its 16th year, the PMO is a national competition designed to select the best secondary students in mathematical problem-solving in the Philippines. Organized by the Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP) it is open to all high school students in the Philippines to participate in this said event. The winners of the PMO will receive cash prizes and will automatically qualify to join the training pool for the 2014

Southville Offered Again Pre-I.B. Program to First-time I.B. Students



Southville International School and Colleges brought back again this year the Academic Induction Program for the International Baccalaureate Students recently. This is due to the lack of preparation before entering the I.B. program that most students find as a challenge. Because of the very different nature and status of the I.B. curriculum, present non-I.B. curricula scarcely prepare students for the academic rigors of the I.B. course. Another thing is, those students who finish their tenth-grade in March/April find themselves having too much time at their hands with their limited choices for academic preparation prior to entering the program.
