Southville Opens Interest Clubs



The Varsity Interest Clubs Toward Outstanding Recreation and Sports (V.I.C.T.O.R.S.) recently held its series of launching for Grade School and High School.  The program aims to develop the intellectual, athletic or creative calling of SISC students in a fun yet informative setting.

 

Among the Interest Clubs available to grade school students are Arts & Crafts, Glee Club/SISC Chorale, YES (Young Enthusiasts in Science), School Buzz, Creative Dramatics, Film Appreciation, Book Lovers, Dance Movers, Girl Scouts, Computer, Math, Basketball, Soccer, Badminton, Karate/Self-Defense among others.

Southville Global Village Goes to US



Now on its 15th year, participants of Southville Global Village Program had an exploration tour in U.S. West Coast of San Francisco, Carmel, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles.

Held from May 21-June 2, the tour aimed to provide students with a unique, personal, and intercultural learning. The travel program gives participants learning experiences they cannot acquire in the classroom as they are directly exposed to various cultures and peoples.

Southville Mathletes Triumph Regionals



Southville International School and Colleges Math Team of Gen Mark Tanno, Miguel Villar and Yong Jae Kim won the championship of the 2013 Math Teachers Association of the Philippines Regional Competition for Second Year – Category A. The team qualified to compete in the Regional Finals by also placing first in the Division and Sectoral Finals.

Southville BSBA Marketing Student Bags Awards in World Dance Supremacy Battlegrounds



Ryuji Z. Tachiba, 4th Year BSBA Marketing Management student of Southville International Schools and Colleges won in the Individual and Open Division of “World Dance Supremacy Battlegrounds” – Sydney, Australia last December, 2012. It was his first time to compete, participate & win in a prominent international dance contest, hence, strengthening his curriculum vitae as one of the more established choreographers in the Philippines.

Southville Salutes Non-Teaching Personnel



The hard work and dedication of SISC non-teaching personnel will be acknowledged and celebrated by students, administration, and other school community members on February 17, 2012.

 

Administrative staffs, office assistants, maintenance people and security personnel will be gathered for a thanksgiving mass, institutional gift giving, and snacks. The event is a recognition of the non-teaching personnel‘s important contributions for the students and the school. [Read more]

Monarchs Excel in ISAC Meet



Cagebelle Claire Hedley (International Baccalaureate I), and booters Joseph Yoo (HS II-Generosity) and Kerim Raies (HS III-Prudence) bagged top individual honors in the International Schools Activities Conference (ISAC) held in Brent-Baguio last January 19-21, 2012. Southville IT Students Learn About Joomla



The College of Information Technology of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) recently hosted a forum on Joomla, a dynamic portal engine and content management system. The guest speaker was Ernesto Boydon, an IT expert, Internet marketer, web hosting specialist, and author of the book “Website Building with Joomla”.

Southville Alumnus’ Film Wins in Global Fest



A short feature by Juan Paulo Reyes of High School Batch 2009 of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) was chosen as the winner in the Family Category of an international film competition organized by the Tony Blair Faith Foundation (TBFF).

 

With the theme “Let Me Show You How My Faith Inspires Me,” Reyes wrote, directed and edited the film First Steps to Recovery. It was a simple yet inspiring story of a little boy with big faith.

Southville Nursing Students Conduct Community Diagnosis



Second year BS Nursing students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) concluded their 2-month community diagnosis last September 2, 2011 with the theme “Panibagong Kaisipan, Panibagong Buhay”. The activity was held at SISC’s adopted community, Barangay CAA Phase 4.

 

The goal of the outreach activity was to improve the living conditions of community members through positive impact in health behavior. It consisted of health education classes for children and adults, wound cleaning, BP taking and consultation, and feeding of 900 participants.
