Southville Guidance Head Joins Australia Counselors Mission



As part of the international linkage program of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), Head of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) College Division, Belen L. Mandin, joined the Austrade Counselors Mission held recently. The team composed of six counselors and heads of schools from the Philippines and six others from Indonesia visited fifteen schools in Sydney and Brisbane, Australia.

Gavagan Gears Up for Miss Philippines Earth 2011



Michelle Gavagan, a Mass Communication student of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), and reigning Miss Southville 2010, is an early crowd favorite in the Miss Philippines Earth 2011 beauty pageant.  Representing Las Piñas City, she bested 49 other lovely candidates to win the Ms. Golden Sunset Special Award in the preliminary competition held at Golden Sunset Resort, Calatagan, Batangas.

Parent-Teacher Conference Set on January 28



The Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) is an opportune time for parents to meet their children’s class advisers and sponsors who act as their guardians in school.  For the second term, PTCs are scheduled on January 28, 2011 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm in Elizalde, Munich and Luxembourg campuses of Southville International School and Colleges. SISC Alumni Ace Physician Licensure Exam



Four members of the SISC Class of 2000 and 2001 are set to join the medical profession as they recently passed the Physician Licensure Examination. SISC takes pride in congratulating the new doctors, Rachel Elaine Marie Gaerlan Agarrado, Ma.Jessielit Arca Co, Carlene Solidum and Vanessa Vianca Rose Vergara Villanueva.

American Anthropologist Updates on Perinatal HIV/Aids



“ The humanistic approach of creating a warm, supportive and welcoming environment of care by the medical workers is a major factor in encouraging patients with HIV-AIDS to come out in the open and be treated.”  

This was shared by BS Nursing (BSN) Batch 2013 student, Karyl Gebeck, after participating in the first Nursing Development Program of the College of Nursing that featured HIV-AIDS research expert, Dr. Jessica Scott Jerome.  Dr. Jerome’s latest work on “Perinatal HIV/AIDS in Brazil and the US: Human Rights Based Approach to Health Policy”  was presented to around three hundred BSN and BS Psychology

Southville Studes Conferred Microsoft Certification



One year prior to graduation, Third Year BS Information Technology students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) are already highly qualified Microsoft Certified Professionals specializing in the implementation and maintenance of Microsoft Databases (SQL Server 2005) after achieving a 100% passing rate for the Microsoft Certification exam held last month. Two students got a 100% passing rate while majority received more than 90% passing rate.

Southville Faculty Wins Palanca Award



Mr. Mark Adrian Ho of Southville International School and Colleges of Language and Humanities Department won 2nd prize in the Filipino one-act play category of 2016 Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature Contest.

His play entitled Billboard tells the story of billboard workers who witnessed a vehicular accident while atop their billboard structure. It was staged by DLSU’s Harlequin Theatre Guild last March 2016.

Southville Faculty Reimagines Facebook Filipinos at ICOPhil 2016



Southville faculty member Mark Adrian Ho presented a paper at the 10th International Conference on Philippine Studies (ICOPHIL) last July 6-8, 2016 at Silliman University in Dumaguete City. The said conference, focusing on the theme “Re-Imagining Community, Scholarship and Citizenship”, was attended by approximately 300 local and international scholars who presented their papers on Philippine studies in various fields, including the social sciences and the humanities.

Southville Honors the Mothers of the World at SM Southmall



May 8, 2016 – Southville International School and Colleges in partnership with SM Southmall celebrated Mother’s Day with music, dance and activities at the SM Southmall Food Street.

The event featured ACTS-Manila at Southville ballerinas in their graceful tutus pirouetting in honor of all the mothers in the world. The performers, Southville Basic Education students members of ACTS-Manila at Southville, delighted and amazed the audience with the skill, grace, and emotion they put into every piece that they stopped more observers every minute.

BSN Holds Successful Thesis Presentation



The four notable BSN researches featured this year at the College of Nursing’s Thesis Poster Presentation covered varied areas of interest in clinical practice. Three are quantitative studies: A Comparative Study of Adults with DM Type II Before and After Consumption of Okra Water, Effects of Power Nap on the Cognitive & Motor Performance and Declarative Memory of Nursing Students at SISC and The Effectiveness of a Soaked Povidone Iodine Solution in a Ready-to-use Receptacle in the Operating Room of LPDH; and one qualitative phenomenological study: When Grandparents Become Parents.
