SISC: The Benchmark in E-Learning and Non-Traditional Approaches in Teaching



Every year, groups of administrators and faculty from various schools and universities visit to benchmark with Southville International School and Colleges (SISC), particularly in its curriculum and instructional methodologies. More and more educational institutions have expressed interest in observing and learning how SISC facilitates the delivery of real international education.

Southville Alumnus Makes it to Tribeca Film Fest



A short film by Miguel Calayan, graduate of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) high school batch 2008, was chosen as one of entries to be shown in the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Out of 2,800 submissions from all over the world, Calayan’s Prima will be premiered along with 60 other entries which made it to the cut. He wrote, directed and did the cinematography for the said film.

The College Division of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) is now accepting applications for admission and enrolment to its various courses for the 1st semester of Academic Year 2012 – 2013.

Multimedia Student’s Photo is Finalist for PLDT Directory Cover



Following her win from the 26th Visual Arts Competition Photo Contest held at SM Southmall, Encar Sarah Lopez was hailed as one of the fifty finalists in the national photography competition of DPC-PLDT. Lopez is currently a sophomore Multimedia Arts student at Southville International School and Colleges (SISC).

With the theme “Only in the Philippines,” thousands of photos were submitted in an attempt to land on the coveted cover of PLDT directories. This year’s search focused on photography as a modern medium of art, and is aimed to showcase what are positive and unique in the Philippines.

DOST Gives Science Award to Southville Student



In recognition of Gen Mark Tanno’s victories in two international science and mathematics competitions held in 2011, the Philippine’s Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will confer on him the Youth Excellence in Science (YES) Award.

Tanno’s twin wins in the 14th Po Leung Kuk Primary Mathematics Competition World Contest (PWMC), Hongkong and 2011 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) earned him the much coveted recognition.

He will be lauded in the YES Awarding Ceremonies on February 10, 2012 at the PHIVOLCS Auditorium, University of the Philippines – Diliman, Quezon City. [Read more]

Student Leaders Unite on Feb 11



Passionate and dedicated student leaders from Muntinlupa, Las Pinas and Paranaque will develop their leadership values, skills and competencies in the upcoming “Southern Leaders Summit 2012”, to be held on February 11 at Southville International School and Colleges.

Southville Golfer Wins Two Tournaments



Paolo Gamab of HS III – Conviction was hailed Champion of the Boys Class A Division in the final leg of the 2011 School Season Tournament, and also of the Class A Division 2 of the 2011 President’s Cup both organized by the Junior Golf League.

Monarchs Win in Karate Tournament



The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) Karate contingent brought home a total of eleven medals (three gold, four silver, and four bronze) from the 2nd HICCA Karatedo Tournament held recently.

Hosted by the Philippine Shito Ryu Karatedo Federation, the tournament brought together practitioners in the traditional Shotokan form of the martial art of Karate-Do. The competition was in two categories namely Kata, which is choreographed patterns of movements, and Kumite, which is sparring.

The medal winners are:

Southville Supports Charity Toy Drive



Students of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) brightened a less privileged child’s holiday season by donating new or used toys to the Jollibee Maaga ang Pasko toy drive. For the second year in a row, SISC collected toys which were distributed to local children who didn’t have any presents to open last Christmas.

Jollibee matched every donation with a Jollibee toy, thus doubling the number of gifts received by the beneficiaries, who are the students of Masville Elementary School, BF Learning Center, Daniel fajardo Elementary School, and CAA Elementary School. [Read more]

SGEN Launches OPERATION PAGLINGAP to Typhoon Sendong Victims



Southville Global Education Network (SGEN) Academic Community is activating its OPERATION PAGLINGAP to channel our love and concerns to the victims of Typhoon Sendong, said to be one of the deadliest cyclones to hit the Philippines in the last 12 years (GMA News Research).

In the Visayas, floods hit Dumaguete City and the towns of Sibulan and Valencia after the Ocoy and Banica Rivers overflowed. A bridge connecting Baranggays Palinpinon and Balabag in Valencia was damaged.
