Nursing Students 100% All Aboard!



July 27, 2016 – Southville’s Multi-Purpose Hall was once again filled with 100 percent attendance of BSN students as the College of Nursing held its 1st BSN Lecture Series for AY 2016-2017.

The program featured a lecture presentation on the Australian model of Emergent Care of Clients with Maladaptive Behavior by guest resource speaker Ms. Jam T. Javellana, RN. Nurse Jam is a Southville-BSN alumna from Class 2010. She now works in a highly specialized unit adjunct to the state-of-the-art Emergency Department complex of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia.

Southville College Kicks off with School Pride and Student Recognition



July 14, 2016 – School spirit intensified as Southville International School and Colleges launched the start of the First semester with a College General Assembly.

Students from all nine colleges flooded the Monarchs Hall to show love and rally behind their deans through the thunderous applause, cheers, flags and balloons.

To further sow seeds of inspiration among the student body, the event recognized last year’s achievers. Every college awarded their top 5 students with applause and Dean’s Lister certificates. The Season of Giving



They say that part of Christmas is about giving gifts and spreading joy. Last December, the Psychology and Tourism students together with the faculty of Southville International School and Colleges did just that with a gift-giving program for the children of CAA.

A few weeks before the event, the students were given a wishlist with the names of the children so they will have ample time to buy presents for their chosen kid. Seniors excel in college applications



Gillian Joy S. Cruz of Senior High School was awarded the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde – Benildean Excellence in Scholastic and Talent (BEST) scholarship. The BEST Scholarship is the highest form of scholarship in the College, and is awarded to those who have an outstanding academic record and consistent substantive achievement in curricular, co- and extracurricular activities.

Another senior, Jeong Young Chae, was accepted to the Korea University College of Engineering, one of the prestigious SKY universities which is the Korean equivalent of the Ivy League.… [Read more]

Southville Officer Delivers a Speech at the ASEAN Teachers Conference



On March 4, 2015, our Vice-President for Academics and Research Dr. Marjorie Gutierrez-Tangog delivered a talk at the “ASEAN Teachers Conference: Learning to Learn Above SEA Level and Tomorrow”. The event was held at the Amoranto Theater, Diliman Quezon City and was attended by teachers and education students from Metro Manila. Joining her as keynote speakers were Senator Bam Aquino, Senator Nikki Coseteng, assistant Vice President of UP –Professor Nes Raneses, and Principal of the Year Ms. Espe Bautista.

MMA 1 Holds Comic Exhibit



Media Center, Lux Building – the inauguration of Multimedia Freshmen’s exhibit Comic Relief took place from March 17, 2015. The exhibit comprised of one-page comic strips made by the students for their Intermediate Drawing class along with a corresponding poster and cover.

The ribbon was cut at around 12:30 PM by Dr. Felma Tria, the college’s dean, with the presence of Mr. Joey Reboredo, the professor of the said class. Juice and finger foods such as sandwiches, chips, and cookies were also given to the guests soon after.

The exhibit ran until March 20, 2015 at around 5 PM.

Nursing major joins Leadership Congress



The 1st Asian Federation of Student Leaders (AFSL) International Youth Congress held last January 21-24, 2015 in Guam, USA gave its delegates an opportunity to develop strong leadership skills like self-management, people management, and task management anchored on character, integrity and collaboration, thus, fostering peace, harmony, and global kinship through social responsiveness and servant-leadership.

Southville Gears Up for 2015 WASC Visit



“The entire school leadership and staff of Southville International School Colleges have shown a commitment to provide a quality educational program for its students. The curriculum and instructional methodologies are fully developed for Grades K-12 and the IB Diploma Programme,” thus reported the WASC Committee in their evaluation during their visit last February 2012.

This year, Southville is highly focused on the mid-year visit of the Western Association of School and Colleges (WASC), USA in February 2015. Southville Places 4th in 2014 EdukCircle Docu Fest



Given barely two weeks of preparation for the competition in an unlikable weather, Team Southville composed of Communication and Multimedia Arts Students Arthessa Bola, Mark Castillo, Bea Dela Cruz, Jay Gurbuxani, Rhenessa Lacerna, Danica Jelina Rayos, Christel Reyes, Wilhelmina Zara, Ren De Guzman and James Ocampo, placed fourth in the 2014 2014 EdukCircle Documentary Film held last year.

With the theme Media and Politics: Reporting the Philippines’ Recent Biggest Political Scandals, the competition was sponsored by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and was held  to evaluate the communication practices in different academic fields.

Southville Math Genius off to National finals



Gen Mark Tanno of Southville International School and Colleges’ (SISC) International Baccalaureate Diploma Program hurdled the area stage of the Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO) to advance to the National Finals of the oldest and most prestigious math competitions among public and private high school students in the country.
As one of the twenty qualifiers for the National Finals, Gen Mark will have the chance to be a part of the Philippine Team that will represent the country in the 56th International Math Olympiad (IMO) in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
