SGEN represents Phils in Dubai MUN



Seven high school students from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) and Stonyhurst Southville International School (SSIS), members of Southville Global Education Network (SGEN), represented the Philippines in the recently held Dubai, UAE, Model United Nations (MUN) participated in by more than 800 delegates from 30 countries around the world. Southville Math Wizards Qualify for MTG Training



More Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) students from Grade School and High School qualified to the Mathematics Trainers’ Guild (MTG) Young Mathematicians’ In-House Intensive Training Program after getting top scores in the MTG Mathematical Challenge for Filipino Kids Training Program.

The MTG Training Program provides participants the chance to enhance their mathematical skills by learning from top math experts and interact with fellow trainees from round the country in preparation for international math competitions. The additional successful SISC math whizzes are:

Southville selected by the European Chamber for internship program



SISC is one of the selected schools in Metro Manila invited by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) to send fourth year college students to undergo their on-the-job training/practicum under the ECCP’s Student Internship Program.

The program aims to expose students to the corporate world and train them to interact with foreign companies existing in the Philippines. This special internship program requires students to have:

BS Marketing student passes Marketing certification program



Fourth year BS Marketing student Gerard Andrei B. Deinla passed the Registered Marketing Professional (RMP) Certification Program of The Chartered Association of Marketing and Business Professionals (CAMBP) and Junior Achievement (JA) Philippines.

When asked how he felt upon passing the exam, Gerard responded, “I felt blessed and honored to be part of the few Registered Marketing Professionals here in the Philippines. Theater Arts Class Remakes Fame on Stage



“You got big dreams? You want fame?”

After five years we were given a chance to hear those memorable lines again as the Introduction to Theater Arts class staged a modern adaptation of the musical Fame last year at the Luxembourg Hall of Southville International School and Colleges.

Fame is an 80s American musical film which follows the life of a group of performing arts students over four years in art school. The film’s popularity gave rise to adaptations on television and stage as well as its latest film remake in 2009.

Yumee Kang of Senior High School won the grand prize in the Young Sung Painting Contest sponsored by the Korean Cultural Center in Seoul, South Korea.

Paloma U. Zobel, having the idea to build a platform for the Filipino youth where they can come together and voice out their ideas, founded IDEA’YALA – an innovative challenge for the young minds to come up with an idea that will shape the future of the mall.

Southville Math Wizard Triumphs Hongkong Tourneys



Jeremie Keon Torralba of Grade 4 Humility won back-to-back awards in international mathematics competitions held in Hongkong.

He ranked 3rd in the 10th Asia Cup Stars of the Olympic Math Finals, and won a special award in the Hua Cup International Olympics Mathematics (Hong Kong Macau Region) Final Competition.

A member of the Mathematics Trainers Guild of the Philippines, Keon passed the rigid selection of the Mathematics Development Academy of the Philippines. His remarkable performance in their series of training programs qualified him to represent the Philippines together with other Filipino qualifiers.

Monarchs Take Home Championship Crown



Holding the 2009 Over-All Championship Title of International Schools Activities Conference (ISAC), Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) ruled over Global Jaya International School (GJIS) in the Volleyball and Basketball Girls and Boys Division in the Asian International Schools Conference (AISAC) held in Indonesia recently.
