Efren Peñaflorida speaks at Basic Education’s Kick-Off Event



In celebration of Southville’s 25th Foundation Anniversary, the Basic Education department held a Kick-Off event last September 21, 2015 at the Monarchs Gym. Efren Peñaflorida, the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year and Founder of Kariton Klasrum, was the guest speaker. Mr. Peñaflorida shared to students from Grade 6 to 12 his advocacy of bringing education to out-of-school children. He also imparted four insightful key points and they are as follows:

Southville holds Arts & Crafts workshop at Fully Booked



Southville International School and Colleges organized an Arts & Crafts workshop at Fully Booked Alabang Town Center last September 12, 2015. Children of all ages attended and enjoyed the activities prepared by SISC Art teachers. The participants learned how to create bookmarks and do origami. The Arts & Crafts workshop is only the first in SISC’s “Learn the Southville Way at Fully Booked” series of activities that exhibits our brand of high quality international education.

SISC libraries unveil new activities for new year



An abundance of fun and educational events will be offered by the SISC Libraries so students – Basic Education and College alike – can enjoy activities that stimulate imagination and creativity.
The ”Book-a-Librarian” service allows the participant to get, not just one-on-one assistance from the librarian, but also a free 30-minute appointment with a “sashed rover” who will sing the Dewey Decimal Classification Song, talk about the Wedding Dance, or tour the participant around the library. Wearing a distinctive sash, sashed rovers are available in the library to assist with general library and basic Internet and computer queries.

Southville Holds Substance Abuse Prevention Seminar



Knowing that education is the best deterrent against substance abuse, Southville International School and Colleges’ Discipline Office recently held a Substance Abuse Prevention and Awareness Seminar last for Grades 8 – 11 students.  Invited as facilitator was Dr. Bernard M. Regalado, Head of the Drug Testing Laboratory of Asia Pacific Medical and Diagnostics, Inc., and accredited physician of the Dangerous Drugs Board.

Jessica Zafra Hosts a Book Talk at Southville



Book lovers, bookworms, bibliophiles, writers, bloggers, and literature lovers of Southville International School and Colleges are all set to give renowned columnist, writer, and talk show host Jessica Zafra a warm welcome on September 21, 2016 as she talks about “TEN CLASSICS  FOR YOUNG ADULTS.”

Initiated by the SISC Library, the event is in support to the school’s commitment to promote reading, being the Center for Reading in the South. Further, it brings together people who share the same love for literature.

Sofia Jumao-as is Southville’s New Ice Princess



Sofia May Emerald Jumao-as of Grade 3 – Wisdom of Southville International School and Colleges reaped 6 gold medals and a trophy as the highest pointer in the Female Basic Category of the recent Skate Manila 2016 held at the SM Mall of Asia.

In a special correspondence, Sofia’s mother thanked Southville in expressing support and confidence in Sofia’s achievements.

SOUTHVILLE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AND COLLGES: OPEN HOUSE – FEBRUARY 6 AND 7, 2015



Southville International School and Colleges once again hosted its annual open house where high school students from different schools were invited to join and take the college entrance exam for free. Psychology Society, the in-house organization of the College of Psychology, took part in the event by setting up its black and white themed booth that showcased psychological concepts and theories, and gave a summary of the Psychology program offered in Southville International School and Colleges.

College of Nursing Class of 2007 –Where are they now?



Southville International School and Colleges’ (SISC) BS Nursing class of 2007 was the pioneer batch of nursing graduates from the College of Nursing. The batch was a blend of young college first coursers, transferees, and adult second coursers who all came to be part of the demand of the millennium for professional nurses all over the world. It was in 2003 when SISC, as a young growing college in the south, opened the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program envisioning to produce competent world-class nurses with a heart for service.
