The College of Communication organized Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Week last July 28 to 31. This event which was held at the fifth floor of the Media Center aimed to raise awareness on SISCs adopted barangay and how the college has extended asssistance to the members of the community.
During the said week, the Introduction to Public Relations Class under Ms. Marilou T. Gonzales showcased a reminiscent exhibit showing multiple Corporate Social Responsibly events that the college has done throughout the years. The exhibit showed that doing outreach activities have been part of the College’s tradition, as it traced the development of the outreach activities of the college which started in 2002. The photos displayed students happily partaking in activities to nurture our neighbor, the CAA community. The activities range from tutorial sessions with grade school students, book drives and seminars for high school students. Currently, the outreach initiative of the College of Communication is called Basic Education Enrichment Program (BEEP).
Aside from the exhibit, dioramas prepared by the Communication and Society class was displayed at the student lounge of the Media Center. The colorful dioramas included a miniature model of the SISC campus and barangay CAA. It also showed some of the places wherein outreach activities took place.
