HONG SUNG WON
Sung Won showed impeccable defense throughout the game. Taking on his role as captain to heart, he exhibited great leadership as he built up his teammates and never showed signs of letting down. The game ended with Southville and Southridge scoring two goals apiece. This is a great boost for our school since this has been the best finish we have had against Southridge, thus far. Go Monarchs!

MARIAN MADDELA #5
Marian played with consistent effort in the opening match of the SLCUAA last Saturday at the Monarchs Gym. She obtained the highest points on service and attack at the net. Marian, a new player on the team, played with pride and confidence as Southville never gave up even when they were trailing by 2 sets. They won convincingly the next two sets and hang on until the game reached an exciting 5th set. The final score was 25-27, 25-23, 25-9, 25-15, 15-13 in favor of the Southville Monarchs. This victory is a great boost for Southville, who also played host to the prestigious league.
