Gwyneth Tangog of Grade 6 – Perseverance was named recipient of the Certificate of Distinction Award in the Upper Primary Division of the 2015 Australian Mathematics Competition. The award is given to students in the top 15 percent of each level and region, or belonging between the 85 and 98 percentile.
In the same competition, Antwone Ong of Gr. 6 – Perseverance and Arin Lee of Gr. 4 – Humility received the Credit Award for being in the top 50 percent of their level. They won their awards for their performance relative to other students in their region, of the same year level.
The Australian Mathematics Competition is conducted by the Australian Mathematics Trust for students from Year 3 up to Year 12 in Australia, and their equivalent grades in other countries. More than 40 countries and thousands of participants have made the event one of the world’s largest mathematics competition.
