Spectra of emotions fly in SISC’s Spoken Poetry Contest

The Southville College Division held a Spoken Poetry Contest at the newly opened Monarchs Park in celebration of College Love Fest. Aimed to provide an avenue for students to express their talents in literary and public speaking, the contestants came from the different college programs of Southville.  

Cyrille Estapia, a 3rd Year BSBA Financial Management student, was named Grand Champion of the competition followed by Julette Peque, a 3rd Year BS Information Technology student, as 1st Runner-Up and James Delgado, a 3rd Year BS Entrepreneurship student, as 2nd Runner-Up.

The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) College of Nursing recently renewed its partnership agreement with Asian Hospital & Medical Center which is one of the leading private tertiary hospitals in the country. The partnership involves the two organizations’ unique ‘On-boarding Immersion Program’ that provides nursing students with the Joint Commission International experience. 

In the program, the students learn and immerse themselves in a hospital setting where international healthcare systems and processes for quality and patient safety standards are practiced. In-Person English Festival Returns After 3-Year Lull

An event beloved by Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) students returned to Luxembourg Campus after being held virtually in 2020, 2021, and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. English Fortnight lined up various activities for Grades 6 – 12 students to live the language in a fun setting.

They engaged in various contests to show their competence in communicating in English while showcasing their natural talents. The festival ended with an awards ceremony in which student speakers, performers, and artists are recognized for their accomplishments. The champions in the various levels are:

Monarchs continue to soar in international math contest

Continuing the school’s string of victories in international math contests, students from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) brought home awards from the heat  round of the 2022/23 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao  Greater  Bay  Area (Big Bay Bei) Mathematical Olympiad. Gabriel Dino of Gr.  3  – Peace emerged as the first prize winner in his level featuring delegates from many countries around Asia.

Southville Faculty Joins Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative

Congratulations to our Social Living and Global Education Faculty, IB Student Council Moderator, and SISC MUN Director, Mr. Jude Russel Cuntapay for being accepted as a delegate and workshop leader on the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Alumni Workshop on Global Environmental Issues and Natural Resources Management. He will be representing our school in this workshop in Bali, Indonesia on February 11 to 17.

ACTS Manila @ Southville Brings Home Multiple Awards

Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) brought home several medals from ACTS Manila’s “The Cornerstone Festiva Dance Competition 2022” held late last year. The online dance competition was participated in by currently-enrolled ACTS Manila students all over the Philippines.

Grade 10, IB students, and Grade 11-12 students from the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand are putting their knowledge of financial investing and stock markets to the test in the 2023 Southville Global Education Network (SGEN) Stock Trading Challenge involving other students from SGEN schools. Conducted in partnership with Rotary Club Makati Salcedo and the Capital Market Institute of the Philippines, the contest aims to demystify the equity markets by exposing participants to hands-on trading in the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Senior high school students from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) came together and demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas by holding the “Adopt a Kuya/Ate Program” last December 15, 2022 at Monarchs Park. Fifth Grader Strikes Gold in International Gymnastics Competition

A student-athlete from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) won five gold medals at the 8th International Gymnastics Invitational that took place in Jakarta, Indonesia last December. Tchelzy Mei Maayo of Gr. 5 – Trustworthiness dominated the women’s artistic Level 5 with victories in the floor exercise, vault, uneven bars, beam, and individual all-around events of the 12-and-under category.
