Joanna Marcelo: Phils’ Next Super Model

After making waves as a CCP full ballet scholar, Joanna Mari B. Marcelo, a second year I.N.N.O.V.E. Southville student, is now blooming to become the country’s next teen super model.

Competing against equally beautiful and iconic Fashionista from different private schools and universities in the recently held 100 Teens Fashionista of Metro Manila, Joanna swept other contestants and was named one of the twenty five semi-finalists. She also received the Teen Fashionista Discovery of the Year and the Media Personality Special Awards.

Organized by Innovision Entertainment Production, the event is a model search for the best Filipino patriotic inspired dresses and costumes. This competition aims to, as what President Benigno S. Aquino III emphasized in his message, highlight and further encourage “the inherent beauty, vibrancy, and drive of our Filipino youths.”

Joanna said that the competition was really a challenge for her. It provided her an opportunity of promoting the love of country through fashion.

The Philippine’s next teen super model Joanna, who started modeling since she was four, is a testament of how holistic a Southville student can be. This is anchored on several programs of the school like the M.A.L.A.C.A. which develops the students’ giftedness in Mental Ability, Academic Achievement, Leadership, Athletics, Creativity, and Arts.
