Southville Hosts International Forum for Real-Life Application on Artificial Intelligence Technology

Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) thru its training center, Taylor Center for Professional Development held the 1st International Forum on Real-Life Applications for Artificial Intelligence Technology last August 23, 2018 with Dr. Florent Seichepine, Head of Research Facilities, Hamlyn Centre Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine as the international guest lecturer.

The forum highlighted  practical uses of Artificial Intelligence Technologies. It also underscored the current uses of AI in addressing challenges that the world experience by defining the right direction and out-comes of AI projects.

Southville delegation wins Major awards in International MUN (Model United Nations)

The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) Model United Nations (MUN) delegation returned from the 8th International Model United Nations Conference in Beijing, China with the top awards as the only Philippine representative. The following are the awards received by SISC students: John Jake Worden (Best Delegate), Alexander Therese Derpo (Outstanding Delegate), Jee Seung Hong (Outstanding Delegate) and Sungyu Kwon (Honorable Mention).

Southville Offers Worthwhile Weekend Programs



Worthwhile Weekend Programs (WWP) are part of Southville International School and Colleges’ enrichment activities for its students and other interested parties. Learning extends beyond the four walls of the classroom as participants get to be taught a new knowledge or skill.

The WWP academic offerings include Enhancement Programs in Math, English as Second Language (ESL) for Non-English Speaking Foreign Students, Basic Chinese, Basic French, Basic and Advanced Computer and Research Writing.

Southville teachers earn master trainer certification



 

The US-based Educational Testing Service (ETS), developer of the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) test, recently certified SISC educators Phi Anh De Castro, Josephine dela Peña, and Ailene Fulgencio as TOEIC PROPELL instructors and English ambassadors. They finished an intensive workshop held in Vietnam where they learned the latest updates on the test, teaching tips, teachable strategies for achieving the best score, how to effectively integrate more activities into TOEIC test practice course, and recommendations on the most up-todate and appropriate course materials.

After making waves as a CCP full ballet scholar, Joanna Mari B. Marcelo, a second year I.N.N.O.V.E. Southville student, is now blooming to become the country’s next teen super model.

Competing against equally beautiful and iconic Fashionista from different private schools and universities in the recently held 100 Teens Fashionista of Metro Manila, Joanna swept other contestants and was named one of the twenty five semi-finalists. Artist wins first place in poster making contest



 

Maia Isobel Masilungan of Gr. 7 – Resilience is the winner in the 4th Children On-the-Spot Chemistry Poster Making Competition organized by the Philippine Federation of Chemistry Societies recently.  A total of 34 Grades 6-7 students from 17 schools joined the contest that focused on the children’s view of the role of chemistry in their lives and their appreciation for it.  Masilungan’s work is now submitted as finalist for the national award.… [Read more]

Southville alumna wins an award at National Model United Nations

Southville high school alumna Ma. Charmaine Dayupay represented the Philippines in the National Model United Nations (NMUN) Conference held at Olomouc, Czech Republic last November 22-28, 2015. Representing the country of Estonia, Charmaine won “Honorable Mention Delegate. Among the estimated 16,000 students, she was one of the 18 delegates chosen to participate in the event from her university. On March 20-24, Charmaine will again represent the Philippines and her school in the NMUN-NY.
