Southville Attends PACU Benchmarking Program in South Korea

Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) President Jocelyn P. Tizon is in South Korea as part of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities (PACU) delegation for benchmarking purposes from May 22 to 26, 2024.

The PACU benchmarking program aims to learn best practices in global education, transnational education, e-learning, lifelong learning, and other areas from top Korean institutions like the Incheon Global Campus (a joint campus for State University of New York Korea, George Mason University Korea, Ghent University Global Campus, The University of Utah Asia), the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (UNESCO APCEIU), Kyungwoon University, Visang Education, and the National Institute for Lifelong Education (NILE).

As a PACU member, Dr. Tizon joined 14 other representatives from PACU member schools in visiting these institutions and engaging in knowledge exchanges. The trip is made possible with the support of USAID ____, This is an excellent opportunity for SISC to gain insights that can further enhance its internationalization efforts and delivery of quality education.

A cultural tour was organized to foster stronger bonds among PACU officers. It included a day trip to Gyeongbokgung Palace, where participants donned traditional Hanbok attire, immersing themselves in the rich heritage. The tour also explored the Bukchon Hanok Village, where each corner narrates a tale of tradition and culture.
