Southville Faculty Members Selected for NetMission Academy 2025

Southville College of Information Technology and Engineering is proud to announce that two of its distinguished faculty members, Mr. Gilbert Clause Magallanes and Mr. Dean Mark Molde, have been selected among 50 candidates for NetMission Academy 2025. This program fosters skills in the field of internet policy making for the youth from all across the Asia Pacific Region.

The NetMission Academy aims at empowering young minds with the knowledge and communication skills through a series of online sessions that have engaging discussions on internet policy. The new 2025 program has been expanded, which includes two pre-training webinars, followed by seven comprehensive training webinars. This new structured experience is designed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the internet and its governance.

A highly competitive selection process saw over 136 eligible applications from bright talents all across 17 different countries. After careful consideration, 50 candidates from 13 countries were chosen to participate in the 3-month program. Among the selected participants are individuals from the lands of Australia, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

Both Mr. Magallanes’s and Mr. Molde’s selections highlight their exceptional academic prowess and professional achievements, which underscore the College’s commitment to excellence in the field of information technology and engineering. Both Mr. Magallanes and Mr. Molde are excited to contribute to NetMission Academy’s goals and further strengthen their expertise in the evolving world of internet governance.
