Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) celebrates the resounding success of Southville IN2ITION 2024: The 3rd Philippine Youth Internet Governance Forum (PhYIGF) held on May 30th, 2024.
Dr. Aris Ignacio, Dean of the College of Information Technology and Engineering at SISC, expressed his pride in the event: “Congratulations to Southville’s College of Information Technology and Engineering! The dedication and hard work put into this forum are truly commendable.”
The forum served as a valuable platform for students, faculty, and industry leaders to engage in crucial discussions about internet governance. Esteemed guest speakers, including Senator Alan Peter Cayetano, Ms. Mel Migriño, and Mr. Robert “Bob” Reyes, shared their expertise on a wide range of topics, from emerging technologies to the importance of online privacy.
“We are incredibly grateful to all our esteemed guest speakers,” said Dr. Ignacio. “Their insightful presentations on diverse aspects of internet governance made a significant impact and inspired the young minds present.”
PhYIGF 2024 addressed pressing issues surrounding the future of the internet, empowering young participants to become active contributors in shaping the digital landscape. Experts like Ms. Gina Romero, Atty. Ma. Christina V. Abalos-Naig, and Mr. Paul Reynand Magahis led discussions that fostered critical thinking and encouraged meaningful conversations about responsible online behavior and navigating the digital world safely.
