Designed to meet the ever-evolving demands of the digital world, the revitalized program promises a competitive and industry-responsive curriculum that equips graduates with the necessary skills to become effective communicators, content creators, and marketing professionals.
The program’s unique approach allows students to gain a comprehensive understanding of communication and media technology, and how it can be utilized in digital business and marketing practices. It boasts a strong foundation in general education subjects, alongside a comprehensive set of professional courses. Students will have access to a state-of-the-art Apple Mac Lab, fostering hands-on experience with creative software.
Here’s a glimpse into the program structure:
- General Education: Courses like “Understanding the Self,” “Readings in Philippine History,” and “English: Academic Writing and Business English” provide a well-rounded academic foundation.
- Professional Subjects: Core courses cover essential communication principles, media laws and ethics, communication planning and management. Specialized courses delve into areas like social media, advertising, public relations, multimedia business ventures, and integrated marketing communication. Additionally, students will explore film production, digital branding, and marketing management.
The program culminates in a communication special project, allowing students to showcase their acquired skills and knowledge. An internship opportunity provides valuable real-world industry experience.
Southville’s students have achieved remarkable success, securing jobs as directors, field reporters, PR professionals, marketing directors, social media managers, advertising executives, and business owners. They have also celebrated significant wins, including notable victories in the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) Grand Prix and the Pioneer Stories Short Film Competition.
