Southville Principal Welcomes Basic Education Students

Dear Students, Parents, and Friends of Southville International School and Colleges (SISC):

Welcome to Southville International School and Colleges for the 2018-2019 academic year! As Principal of this vibrant and innovative learning community, it is my great honor to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to everyone whether new to the school or a familiar face. The 2018-2019 school year marks another start of an important and exciting opportunity for all of our students to have an outstanding educational experience.

With the theme “Embracing Academic Rigor with Growth Mindset and Grit through the 5Cs (Competence, Character, Commitment to Achieve, Collaboration, Creativity),” our students will be exposed to a rigorous curriculum necessary for continued success.

They will be encouraged to take both academic and extracurricular risks to promote high academic achievement and personal growth. When their minds are challenged, their hearts are ignited, and their spirits are encouraged, that’s the time they evolve into globally minded, critical and creative thinkers who act with confidence, respect and integrity as they pursue life goals.

Highly qualified and dedicated teachers, who are committed to bringing out the best in their students, have designed lesson plans that provide a high level of individual challenge and academic rigor. Many and diverse learning experiences are in place including integrating technology further into classroom instruction to improve student learning in all content areas, and develop 21st century skills critical to contributing and functioning in an information technology society.

SISC will continue to partner with our students’ parents/guardians and families so every learner will reach his or her full potential. Parents are encouraged to stay active in their children’s education whether taking a few minutes each day to talk with their children about school, or simply seeing that their things are organized for the next school day. Strong collaboration with parents and guardians bring out the best in our students.

I look forward to working with everyone this upcoming school year towards our shared goal of student success. GO MONARCHS!

Marie Vic F. Suarez
Principal
