Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) has been conferred the prestigious Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Recognition for Commitment to Quality Management – the only international school awarded in Philippine history. The PQA is the highest level of national recognition for exemplary organizational performance of private and public organizations in the country. The President of the Philippines personally gives the award during the PQA Conferment Ceremony held at the Malacañang Palace.

Southville applied for the award in 2018 detailing innovations, achievements and improvements in seven key areas which comprise the PQA categories for performance excellence. The education criteria for performance excellence used are (1) leadership; (2) strategic planning; (3) customer focus; (4) measurement, analysis, knowledge management; (5) workforce focus; (6) process management; and (7) results. The 5Cs core values – Character, Competence, Collaboration, Creativity, and Commitment to Achieve served as a strong anchor of the institution reflective of its leadership, people, and operations. With its strategic LEAD to produce GEMS and amazing results and after a rigorous evaluation process, Southville has been approved to be the recipient of the Philippine Quality Award. 

A key strength pointed out by the assessors is Southville’s commitment to delivering quality education as evidenced by the school’s continuing pursuit of external certification/accreditation for the different programs and the institution as a whole.

The PQA evaluators – made up of industry professionals, noted SISC’s serious commitment to improvement in order to achieve quality excellence by planting the seeds of quality and productivity and working towards reaping their long-term benefits. The PQA program was established in 1997 to set a standard of excellence for any organization that aims for global competitiveness. Institutionalized through Republic Act 9013, also known as the Philippine Quality Award Act, the PQA is equivalent to the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in the United States and other national quality awards worldwide.
