Well-known directors Louie Ignacio, Sigfreid Barros Sanchez, and Emmanuel Quindo Palo imparted their knowledge as resource speakers of this year’s Media Talk.
Media Talk: Beyond the Lens of Imagination was held last February 4, 2015 at the Luxembourg Gym. This is a collaborative project of 3rd year AB Communication students and 3rd & 4th year AB Multimedia Arts students for their classes in Media Management & Entrepreneurship, and Multimedia Business. The event intended to share to high school students current practices in the film and directing industry through the talk of the invited speakers.
Ignacio, Director of Party Pilipinas and StarStruck, shared his experiences in directing events, television shows, and movies. On the other hand, Sanchez , known for his documentary Ang Gitaristang Hindi Marunong Magskala, discussed film appreciation and independent filmmaking. Lastly, Palo, who directed Sta. Niña in 2012 which was awarded Best Picture at The ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards, talked about practices in directing television programs and films.
Media Talk, which started in 2012, had the most number of attendees this year. Over 500 hundred students from fifteen (15) schools attended the seminar. The schools are: International Christian Academy, Lakewood School of Alabang, CAA National High School, Ann Arbor Montessori, CAA National High School (Annex), Sto. Nino de Eucharistia Academy, Le-Sil Montessori School, Almanza High School, Las Pinas East National High School, Manresa School, Neo Brightside Christian Academy, Almanza Baptist Christian, Las Pinas Science High School, South Mansfield College, and Church of God’s Miracles.
