R.E.D. Rules Southville Student Council Online Voting

Angelique Marie Perez of R.E.D. (Reaching Excellence through Development) won as President in the recently held Supreme Student Council Election. Joining her are Joylene Frivaldo – Vice-President for Activities, Joenna Morales- Secretary, Mary Collen Oquendo – Treasurer, and Sheina May Lagumbay – P.R.O. On the other hand, Eanna Irabangon and Rafael Allen Perez of A.L.A.S. (Alliance of Leaders Aiming for Success) won as Vice President for Academics and Secretary-General respectively.

The students conducted an online election via Moodle. Ms. Antonette Ramos, StudentAffairs Coordinator for College said, “With the help of Southville’s MIS (Management Information System), we were able to utilize the external Moodle to make this project possible.” According to Ms. Ramos, four voting terminals were set to facilitate the online voting. The students registered using their Moodle account name or student code followed by their password. The students were directed to a page where the students registered important information like their complete name, address and email address. After which, the voting page is displayed. A summary is promptly generated by the administrator to monitor the number of votes received by each candidate.

True to its commitment of molding leaders, the Supreme Student Council Election is a testament to Southville International School and Colleges’ mission to develop movers of society— men and women with hearts of service.
