The Athletics Department of Southville International School and Colleges will host the 3rd Southville Monarchs Alumni Games on July 23, 2016 at the Southville Monarch Gym, Las Piñas City.
The tournament is open to all Southville alumni from Basic Education and College level. An alumnus is defined as an individual who graduated from Southville or studied for at least two years. A student who is currently enrolled in Southville College student and who graduated Grade school or High school is also considered an alumnus.
The Southville Monarchs Alumni Games will feature Basketball, Volleyball and 7-A-Side Football on Men’s, Women’s and Mixed divisions. A Basketball and Volleyball team can have a maximum of 10 players in each team while a Football team can have a maximum of 12 players in each team.
The tournament rules are as follows:
I. Volleyball
1. Matches would be best of 3 sets. The first two sets are played to 25 points, while the third will be for 15 points. All sets will be played win by 2 with no ceiling.
2. Standard FIVB rules will be implemented.
3. There will only be one (1) designated person in charge per team. It could either be a registered coach or team captain. This person is the only one recognized by the officials in dealing with all technical and team concerns.
4. Decision of tournament officials is final and irrevocable.
II. Basketball
1. Standard FIBA rules apply, unless stated otherwise.
2. Games will consist of four 8-minute quarters running clock except for the last 2 minutes of the third and fourth quarter.
3. Each team is allowed one 30-second time-out per quarter. No carry-overs.
4. In case of overtime, a five-minute extension period shall start immediately with a jump ball.
5. One 30-second time-out will be allowed per team for each overtime period.
6. Personal and team fouls will carry over from the fourth quarter.
7. There will be no grace period.
8. There will only be one (1) designated person in charge per team. It could either be a registered coach or team captain. This person is the only one recognized by the officials in dealing with all technical and team concerns.
9. Decision of tournament officials is final and irrevocable.
III. Football
1. 7-A-Side tournament
2. All games will consist of two 12-minute halves without break in between.
3. Open substitution.
4. One red card issued during any game will also make the players ineligible to the following game.
5. Two yellow cards received in two different matches shall carry over and incur automatic suspension from the subsequent match.
6. All cards will be reset at the beginning of the semi-final round.
7. In case of a tie during semi-finals and finals, a penalty shootout will take place (3 kickers)
8. All players, coaches, supporters are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the FIFA Laws of the Game. The tournament officials reserves the right to terminate the participation of a team or a player in the tournament if the behavior of their players, coaches and supporters creates an atmosphere in which a match cannot be completed within the FIFA Laws of the Game.
