Fully clad in sports outfits and armed with passion to protect the environment, the 214-strong Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) contingent led by its president Dr. Marl Ferenal joined more than 100,000 runners in the Run for Pasig Event last October 10, 2010.
The said event was part of the ABS-CBN Foundation’s initiatives to raise funds for the Pasig River and mobilize the Filipino people into real and prompt action. Although the runs began at different starting points, all converged in the Mall of Asia. The 10.10.10 Run for Pasig River event is expected to land the Philippines another spot in the Guinness Book of World Records. Documentation and videos have been sent to Guinness but the official announcement is still to come. Nevertheless, whether the record is broken or not, SISC is officially part of history by participating in what could be the largest environmental foot race in the country.
