From a phenomenal author to an aspiring visual artist, from a world beauty queen to a magna cum laude graduate, from a board top notcher to a global math wizard, from an international filmmaker to a song siren, there is no doubt that Southville International School and Colleges has become a melting pot of talents of students from around the world.
Celebrating its 24th Founding Anniversary, Southville awarded its current students and alumni who have won in national and international competitions and excelled in their chosen crafts in the recently held 2014 Achievers’ Night.
The awardees include BS Psychology alumna Bianca Bernardino whose book “She’s Dating the Gangster” made it big in the silver screen, Miguel Luis Calayan, who won the Best Short Film directing award at the Grand Rapids Film Festival held in Michigan, USA, Katrina Geronimo who ranked 4th in the Nursing Licensure Exam, Gino Santos who ranked 6th in the Physical Therapy Licensure Exam, and Darrel Then who graduated magna cum laude from University at Buffalo.
“The past year has been a year where many of our students have shown great determination, courage, and passion to bring pride to Southville and this does not end with our current students. What makes me even more proud is that the 5Cs Culture extends up to our Alumni who live up to the school’s mission— producing students who are excellent in values and academics,” said Ms. Avic Suarez, Principal.
