Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) hosted recently a forum with the chairpersons, presidents, and administrators of village associations in the cities of Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, and Parañaque.
The event gathered village leaders in an afternoon of sharing of insightful ideas on community involvement, specifically in combating environmental problems. Engr. Ramon Fernandez, Village Manager of Ayala Alabang Village Association (AAVA), talked on Excellent Village Management Practices, with focus on governance, security, community development, and disaster preparedness. On the other hand, Ms. Willa Freah Tac-an, Board Secretary of the Cittadella Executive Village Homeowners Association (CEVHAI) and the Chairperson of its Education and Membership Committee, shared best practices in Ecology and Waste Management.
The activity is the first in a series of lecture-seminars that SISC will conduct in its aim to partner with the different communities to promote awareness for the protection and conservation of the environment. Currently, SISC spearheads several initiatives such as the institutionalized practice of 5S (Sort, Sweep, Systematize, Sanitize and Self-Discipline), the Go Green Campaign, and Harmony of Man and Environment (H.O.M.E.).
