The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) Library hosted the Philippines-ASEAN Library Tourism & Hospitality (Fusion Conference Series 2015) last October 22-23, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Mini Theater. The event, attended by librarians from other institutions, was intended to help libraries in the promotion and marketing of services as well as in expanding their network. Furthermore, it “aims to infuse industry concepts to library management to better and professionalize services of library personnel and other information specialists,” said Mr. Roderick Ramos, Southville’s Library Coordinator.
Insightful topics of discussion at the conference included “Internationalizing Philippine Library Service through KRA,” “Web-based & World-Widening Philippines-ASEAN Library Services,” and more. Open forums were conducted after the lectures to give participants an opportunity to ask questions and voice out their thoughts.
