Southville International School and Colleges’ Hwang In Wook of International Baccalaureate (IB) 1 obtained the highest grade of A* in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination in Chemistry conducted by the University of Cambridge, UK. Three other SISC students got a grade of A namely Lee So Min of IB – 1 for Chemistry, Mirielle Gianna Mintu of Gr. 10 – Commitment for Biology, and Kim Kyung Rok of IB – 1 for Mathematics B. They took the test when they were in Junior High School last academic year.
Subjects are graded A*, A, B, C, D, E ,F and G. The Grade A*(a*) is awarded to those students showing the highest ability in a subject and the Grade G is for a minimum satisfactory performance. The exams are graded by qualified Cambridge authorities. The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a globally recognized qualification conducted at the Grade 10 level. IGCSE has an excellent reputation among international schools worldwide, and is one of the most sought-after qualifications in the world. IGCSEs are recognized as a reliable record of attainment which counts towards entry to universities and colleges around the world.
