The Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) grounds will be lit by a procession of colorful Christmas lanterns as the school celebrates its annual Lantern Parade on December 3, 2012, 6:00 pm, in Luxembourg Campus.

The event aims to bring together members of the Southville Global Education Network (SGEN) together as it requires their active participation in terms of their creativity and collaboration to produce artistic and meaningful Christmas lanterns, thus, strengthening community spirit in a festive atmosphere. Lanterns were created throughout the past week by SISC students, organizations, and members of SGEN with each lantern designed in the form of a giant star and decorated with the festive colors and patterns of their choice.

The best lanterns will receive cash prizes based on their relevance to the Christmas theme and creativity. Also included in the celebration is the SGEN Musical Play Competition which will feature outstanding student achievement in musical theater by the member schools. The program recognizes vocal, dance and acting artistry while providing an entertaining and educational competitive experience for SGEN grade school, high school and college students. The College competition will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 nn while the Basic Education contest will be from 2:00 – 4:00 pm both happening in Luxembourg Gym. Family and friends are invited to get into the Christmas spirit and join the special SGEN Lantern Parade and Musical Play Competition.
