Tanno Gets High Distinction Award in 2011 ICAS – Math


Fresh from his victory in the International Competitions and Assessment for Schools (ICAS) – Science, Gen Mark Tanno once again made Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) proud as he brought home an additional recognition, this time in ICAS – Math. ICAS provides independent and extensive evaluation of students’ understanding in the core learning areas.

His exceptional aptitude in mathematics, hard work, and determination landed him the High Distinction Award in the said international assessment developed by the Educational Assessment Australia (EAA) of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Global Pty Limited. Conducted annually in Australia, ICAS – Math draws together participants from different countries including Brunei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa and United States of America.

Tanno garnered a perfect score in all five strands of ICAS – Math namely: Number and Arithmetic, Algebra and Patterns, Measures and Units, Space and Geometry and Chance and Data.
